Bishop Gorman 2024 Football Preview
Defending National Champs Face Grueling Out-of-State Schedule
Gaels Aim to Improve on 9-2 Record
The Bishop Gorman Crusaders are looking to improve on their 9-2 record from 2023 and make a run at the state championship in 2024.
The Crusaders return a number of key players from last year's team, including senior quarterback Jake Archibald and senior running back Will Trevathan.
Archibald passed for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns last season, while Trevathan rushed for over 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The Crusaders also return a number of key players on defense, including senior linebacker Jackson LaDuke and senior defensive back Miles Hayes.
LaDuke led the team in tackles last season, while Hayes had four interceptions.
The Crusaders will be tested early in the season, as they play three of their first four games on the road.
They open the season on August 25 at national powerhouse Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.).
They then travel to Las Vegas nemesis Bishop Manogue on Sept. 1 and national power IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) on Sept. 8.
The Crusaders' home opener is Sept. 15 against St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.).
The Crusaders are hoping to make a run at the state championship this season, but they will need to play well in their tough out-of-state schedule.
