Paris 2024: India Aims for More Medals at Olympics
Athletes to Qualify Through Entry Standards or Olympic Ranking System
National Olympic Committee May Enter Maximum of Three Athletes in Each Event
As the 2024 Olympics in Paris draw closer, India sets its sights on sending more athletes to the Games and surpassing the medal haul achieved in Tokyo. The qualifying process involves two avenues: achieving the entry standard or attaining a high ranking in the Olympic ranking system, allowing for a maximum of 50 qualification places in each discipline.
The official opening of the Olympic Games in Paris is scheduled for July 26, 2024, but before athletes can step foot on the world stage, they must navigate the qualification process. The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of each country is permitted to enter a maximum of three qualified individuals in individual events, provided they all qualify. The comprehensive Olympic programme features 23 women's events, 23 men's events, and two mixed events: the 4x400m mixed relay and the 35km.
As India gears up for Paris 2024, the collective hope is that a greater number of athletes will qualify, showcasing their exceptional skills and determination on the Olympic stage. The countdown to the qualification process and the much-anticipated Games continues.
