Porzingis Leads Celtics to Victory in Game 1 of NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics took an early lead in the NBA Finals with a 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 on Tuesday night. Kristaps Porzingis made his return to the Celtics lineup after missing almost a month due to a calf injury and he led the way with 20 points.

Jayson Tatum added 18 points and Josh Richardson had 16 for the Celtics. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 23 points, but he was held to just 9-of-22 shooting from the field.

The Celtics were in control from the start, leading by as many as 24 points in the second half. The Mavericks made a late run, but the Celtics were able to hold on for the win.

Game 2 of the series will be played in Boston on Thursday night.
