Attention drivers, a new chapter in Czech road tolls is about to unfold. From January 1, 2021, the Czech Republic will bid farewell to physical motorway vignettes, embracing a modernized system of electronic vignettes.
This digital transformation brings greater convenience and efficiency to toll collection. Gone are the days of purchasing stickers and affixing them to vehicles. Instead, drivers can now purchase electronic vignettes online, eliminating the hassle of physical purchase and placement.
The electronic system ensures seamless toll payment, with vehicles being automatically registered upon entering a tolled section. This streamlined approach reduces the likelihood of fines and penalties for drivers who may have forgotten to purchase a physical vignette or made errors in its application.
